One part of the footage shows Culture Magazine magazine issues, which Mekas began in 1954 with his brother Adolfas, who is traded by a printing press. Many Mekas sectors show a sensation of activity in the Film Manufacturers Cooperative, which he participated in its founding in 1961 to distribute unknown films. Mekas was also the first full -time movie critic of the village’s voice and helped find selected films archives, as well as “Guns of the TERES”, a feature about the lives of two husbands in New York City, and “Memories of a Trip to Lithuania”, about his eventually returning.
A clip of the early nineties, Allen Gusberg, appears at a dinner in Manhattan Loft, where Michas lived for decades before moving to Brooklyn. Ginsberg rhythm on a table and prevents: “I am alone in the sky / where there is nothing to lose it / that the sun is not eternal / for this reason there is the blues.”
In another clip, Mecas looks at the fact that Andy Warhol used a camera to hide his withdrawn nature. “The shy person is unable to connect 100 percent,” Mikas says, adding that the camera is “the series that keeps you connected to the people around you.”
Davison said that the parts similar to the memoirs, in which Michas happens to the camera and photographing clips wandering in New York, is among the most detected parts of his archive because it was “open and a situation.”
She said, “It seems as if no one knows him, and the camera knows him,” she said.
At the moment of openness, Mikas remembers He and his brother were “full of doubts about civilization” by the time they arrived in the United States. “We loved, the world, but you did bad things for us,” he says. Elsewhere in the movie, he talks about the first time he did, “He does not feel lonely in America.” In reference to Lithuania, he added, “There was a moment when I forgot my house.”
In the 1990 clip, Mecas talks about his days as a “displacement person” walking across the lower eastern side of Manhattan, indicating that he was living there and through the eastern river in Williamzburg after his arrival in New York.
“There is a point where you do not know where your home is really.” Mecca says. “I think my real home is the cinema.”
