“I raise six people daily for old passports,”-this was the bright demand from a Norwegian ground processor at Gatwick Airport.
The employee has applied a sudden birthday trip to the family to Copenhagen by distorting the validity of the passport that has applied to British travelers over the past four years.
Caroline Wright of Brighton and her daughter Tess had arranged for a 60th birthday trip to Copenhagen to her husband Steve.
He learned about the destination only at 6.45 am on Friday morning when they arrived at London Gatwick Airport to check the Norwegian flight 3511 to the Danish capital.
All the family was compatible with the post -Britain exit from the European Union for British Travelers to the European Union:
-
On the day of external travel, less than 10 years since the date of the number.
-
On the intended day to return, at least three months before the expiration date.
Independent All the leading airlines were informed of the rules in 2021, shortly after the valid.
But Caroline Wright says that the ground employees were confused about whether the passports were valid.
She said: “The Norwegian crew lady in the region looked at the passports and thought that there was something wrong with them – but she was not sure and it seems that she did not know the rules.”
I thought it might be mine as it ends in June this year. She asked me to talk to her male colleague, who was stationed in the luggage check -in office. He was not sure, but he photographed both passports to me and Steve and sent them to his supervisor.
While we were waiting, another colleague asked the case and said she should be fine.
“At this point, it was a group of emotions.”
Strangely, the supervisor decided to apply a base that did not exist.
“Pray that Steve’s passport was inaccurate because it did not remain three months until March 31, 2025 when she said it” expired “because of the base for 10 years when it was issued.”
There is no such rule. The passport of Mr. Wright who Independent He saw, in effect to travel to the European Union until the end of March to obtain a survival of up to a month.
“At this stage, my tension levels were across the ceiling and I was feeling very fainted. Until 10 minutes before this, my husband had no idea about the place where he was heading because it was a surprise journey for his sixtieth birthday, so we must tell that we were unable to go was destroyed.”
As often happens in these circumstances, the passengers were blamed for the decision – although they were clearly right.
“The supervisor of a woman came and explained that there is nothing they could do. The passport was simply inappropriate, and our responsibility was to ensure that we had the correct documents.
And I repeated that the passport ends in the date of the tenth anniversary of the issue and there were less than three months until this date. She said she was turning into six people after day for the same reasons.
“It was designed, and when seeing their collapse, we suggested that we reap to see if we could get an appointment on an emergency passport in London and booked another trip, because Steve’s birthday was not until Wednesday.
“This was not comfortable – my daughter has exams next week, and thus the dates of the trip during half a period.
“We left and took the train to Brightton, but of course I could not leave this, and we started searching to understand how I could miss this” rule. “
Mrs. Wright found an article in Independent About a similar case on the same day, KLM included – who took out a couple from Hull who were heading from Hambarsed Airport to Paris to celebrate a birthday.
The Wright family is approximately 1300 pounds from its pocket as a result of the Earth’s Employment’s mistake.
“After looking at this, we discovered that we have already made a mistake and made Mr. Wright our sincere apologies,” said a Norwegian spokesman.
“The claim sent by the Wright family will be accelerated, and they can expect a response from us within a few days.”
