The former minister and a major ally of Kim Ledpeter’s attempts to provide assistance in the United Kingdom tried to calm the criticism of the draft law committee dealing with controversial legislation.
Tory Mal Maltesse, who was encouraging in the draft law and sits in the committee, made a dramatic system after the majority voted to an amend to protect people with Down syndrome by 13 to 8.
The defeat of the amendment to the increasing concerns of the campaigns groups added that the weak and the disabled people or people with long -term conditions will not be protected through legislation to coercion to end their lives early.
Labor MP Kim Ledbter (PA) (PA WIR)
The amendment was developed and supported by 50 groups, including Down syndrome, Down Scotland syndrome, and the Dawn National Syndrome Policy Group.
But after rejecting similar amendments to diabetes and mental health, Mr. Malthous seemed to be believed to be weapons to attack the committee that has a majority of deputies who die with help.
In a clear attempt to silence criticism, a point has become a matter of asking whether action can be taken against those who distort the committee.
Mr. Maltesse said: “If anyone, if any person or anyone external, for example, to try to distort part of the discussion on these amendments. What can we do?
Therefore, for example, a person with regard to amendment to consideration for people with Down syndrome, or indicates the social media that the committee refused to consider the residence of people with Down syndrome, and thus will ignore luxury under the draft law.
“To be familiar with it will be a dangerous distortion of both discussion and intention, and if anyone does that, either a member of the House of Representatives in general or someone externally. What are the measures that we can take to correct this?”
He was told that the matter is not a matter of the chair and he will need to ask the authorities of the House of Representatives.
But the case arose less than a week after Kiir Starmer and JD Vance publicly about freedom of expression in the United Kingdom with the US Vice President claimed that there are many clashes on social media.
“I am very disappointed because the amendment that was aimed at protecting people with Down syndrome was voted today,” said Lin Murray, a spokeswoman for “Never Checking”, his 25 -year -old daughter, Down syndrome.
“Multiple organizations representing people with Down syndrome have made clear protection in a draft law for people who suffer from Down syndrome necessary to ensure guarantees from the negative impact that this law will cause on our society.
It also accused Mr. Malthus of trying to threaten activists.
She said: “Kate Malthus’s behavior in the committee was annoying. It seemed to threaten organizations representing people with Down syndrome just to criticize the committee’s decision. We will not be silent about our desire to protect the weak.”
Nicola Enoch, CEO of DowN Syndrome UK (DSUK): “Unfortunately, we know that it is in many ways through society, the lives of those who suffer from Down syndrome often misunderstand and hearts. This makes people with Down syndrome especially vulnerable to coercion and pressure under suicide laws with help.”
“Many people who suffer from Down syndrome and other disabilities now pass their parents or guardians. As a result, it can be largely dependent on state organizations and health care. Getting this bill properly to ensure that those who suffer from Down syndrome are properly protected cannot be more important. As, it does not protect the bill. LEADBEARATER Affairs of those who suffer from Down syndrome.
However, Ms. Leadbeater has constantly argued that the rules in her bill around who will be able to end their lives early and do not need a list of the attached conditions.
“Look at the second paragraph, the definition of peripheral disease, really important terms, they must inevitably be progressive and cannot be reversed by treatment.”
