A student at the Masson High School was arrested after the province said that he had “a great oral threat” at a bus station on Wednesday.
Mason city schools said in a statement that a student male at the high school was arrested on Thursday morning, adding that the threat was made towards some students of the Mason Center early in the Childhood Center.
In a previous statement on the day of the accident, the boycott said that the student “felt that he was chosen, in response to this, an oral threat to shoot at the school.”
Many students reported the threat to officials, while others used the phone or text advice line to report what the student said, according to the previous statement.
Once the accident realized, the province launched an investigation, reviewed the buses of the bus camera and worked closely with the application of the law, ultimately resulted in the arrest of the student.
“We know that accidents such as accidents we participated this week can be annoying, and we want to assure you that the safety and welfare of our students are still our top priority,” says a statement on Thursday. “Our team takes additional steps to enhance the culture of safety, inclusion and respect at all levels of rows.”
“Although the boycott cannot reveal specific disciplinary measures, students who represent threats of this nature generally face a comment with a recommendation for expulsion,” Mason City Tercy Carson, spokesman for Mason City Tercy Carson told the “Enkor”.
The province added that it works directly with affected families and increases the support of the students concerned. This includes an increase in supervision of all boycott buses, in addition to providing “additional monitoring” on the road involved in the Wednesday incident.
In addition, all district schools provide lessons to help students “develop sympathy and integrity, learn and report harmful behaviors, and to practice defending themselves and others in positive and constructive ways,” the statement said. If the student wants to have a conversation with a member of the prevention and wellness team, call the supervisor and wellness of TJ Glassmeyer on Glassmeyert@masonohioschools.com.
To report a threat, the boycott shared three ways that society can reach:
The province said on Wednesday: “Even if it is intended for a joke or due to frustration, threats – the heat or small – can lead to severe tent consequences,” the province said on Wednesday. “Online messages, including group chats, gaming platforms and social media are not really private and can be explained.”
