40 technical companies raise the most visas of H-1B immigrants

Business Insider has used data available to the public from the Ministry of Labor, Citizenship and Migration Services to analyze technology companies that have submitted the most H-1B requests during the government fiscal year 2024. The data comes from the requests submitted by companies that seek to sponsor skilled workers visas.

Our analysis shows that the technology giants collectively offer thousands of these visas annually, using them to fill the critical roles that they claim cannot be an appropriately employee locally.

It is worth noting that it is not the result of all actual rental visa, and sometimes multiple files may be associated with one position. Companies sometimes make new requests to accommodate the amendments or extend current visas. However, the data available to the public provides a reliable overview of the H-1B visa requirements for major companies.

We have excluded consulting companies from this analysis to focus specifically on technical products companies, although consulting giants such as Infosys and Tata Consultance Services traditionally among the largest users in the program.

The analysis reveals that technology giants such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Meta and Apple are among the heaviest program users, with all of the deposits.

While most of the positions are intended for software engineers and other technical roles, companies also use the program to fill in specialized positions in research, product management and data science. The number of employee heads for each company comes from the latest data available to the public, such as the latest annual report of the company, their website, or according to the sources that you spoke with.

The listed companies either did not respond to a request for comment or refused to comment on the registry.

Here are the best 40 technology companies that sponsor H-1B visas, which are classified by the number of their files:
