A lawsuit against Russia against the US -based owner

(Reuters) – Russian prosecutors have reported a lawsuit against the owner of the United States GLAVPROUKT, a company that Moscow seized in October, accused of withdrawing about $ 15.5 million from Russia over the past two years.

In October 2024, President Vladimir Putin decided that Glavprdukt and other assets owned by Universal Beverge Universal and Leonid Smirnov ultimately under the “temporary administration” of the Russian state, allowing Moscow to control business administration.

The general lawsuit of the public prosecutor, which was filed on March 5, did not contain any details, in addition to naming the defendants as Samirnov, comprehensive drinks and other companies.

RBC Business Daily, cited unveiled sources, said it was based on the claim that Smirnov and foreign -controlled foreign companies may have moved about 1.38 billion rubles ($ 15.46 million) from Russia from 2022 to 2024.

Samirnov immediately cannot be reached for comment.

Smirnov was told by Reuters that he completely lost control of GLAVPRODUKT, the largest canned food maker in Russia, since Nubia, and accused new presidents of chairing a decrease in sales.

RBC cited a source as saying that Smirnov sought to prevent the Russian state acquisition administration to his company and issued written instructions to employees not to cooperate with Rosimushchestvo, Federal Property Management Agency.
