The movie “The Great Showman”, a successful 2017 movie, is adapted to The Circus Impressario PT Barnum, on the stage by the Disney theater group and will receive preliminary production in early 2026 in Bristol, England.
This project is the first amendment from the Disney movie for the Fox in the twentieth century since the Walt Disney company acquired FOX assets in 2019.
Music has an accredited creative team. Songs – a mixture of those that appeared in the movie and now the new written on the stage – was written by Bing Basik and Justin Paul, the duo behind “Dear Evan Hansen”, who last year became winners – they won the Amy, Osar, Oscar and Tony Awards.
The director and dance designer is Casey Nicholaw, a theater maker in the prolific Broadway who won the Tony Prizes to direct the “Mystered Book” and for the picture “some of her hot”. Nicholaw has become a preferred collaborator in Disney-also with a long-standing “Aladdin” design and design in addition to the company “Hercules”, which will have West End production in June.
The book was written by Tim Vader, who is famous for “The Series: The Series”.
The film had a star crew, led by Hugh Jackman. The music theater is not yet crew, and Disney said it would hold open tests in Britain and Ireland.
